It could happen tomorrow . . .
An electromagnetic pulse flashes across the sky, destroying every electronic device, wiping out every computerized system, and killing billions.
Alex hiked into the woods to say good-bye to her dead parents and her personal demons. Now desperate to find out what happened after the pulse crushes her to the ground, Alex meets up with Tom—a young soldier—and Ellie, a girl whose grandfather was killed by the EMP.
For this improvised family and the others who are spared, it’s now a question of who can be trusted and who is no longer human.
Author Ilsa J. Bick crafts a terrifying and thrilling novel about a world that could be ours at any moment, where those left standing must learn what it means not just to survive, but to live amidst the devastation.

Ashes looks AWESOME!!
ReplyDeleteSo cool, and the characters sound great:)
OF COURSE I'll see The Hunger Games! I'd have lived in the cutting room during post-production just to get a peek of the parts they're NOT using, I'm such a fan!
And who wouldn't want Peeta:) (Any discarded frames of his I'd have run off with:)

Thanks for this! I plan on seeing the Hunger Games with my 3 oldest children at the midnight showing on March 23rd. They are off of school that day, so its perfect!
ReplyDeleteI'll probably see it after Spring Break (for me, it's that week) that way it won't be as crowded anyway. I definitely look forward to seeing Peeta ;D

Seeing it Midnight on the 22nd/23rd. My friends are painting me GREEN because I get to be Octavia! (We're all dressing up.) Hopefully my husband can handle getting my oldest to school the next morning, because I'm not going to be functional at 7am!
ReplyDeleteI'm really looking forward to seeing Haymitch and Cinna. From the photos, they look perfectly cast.
The part I'm not looking forward to? Rue. I don't know if I can deal with those feelings.
Oh gosh, forgot my email, cause I'm the smartest!

Thanks for the giveaway! I was going to go see the movie with a group of my friends the day it comes out, but some of us will be on a trip...so we're going as soon as we get back!

I would love to be able to see the midnight release but I already know that's not happening. When I go mostly depends on what days my Mom ends up having off [we don't have her schedule that far ahead] and after having read the books together we definitely have to see the movie together.

I definitely plan on seeing the hunger games. I work at a movie theater so I will probably screen it with my coworkers the night before it is released

I'm debating seeing the movie. I loved the books but it might be too graphic as a movie for my taste!

Yes! I can't wait to see the scene when Peeta and Katniss are introduced as districts 12's tributes in their fire costumes.
ReplyDeletegeminicalli at yahoo dot com
This is terrible but I haven't read The Hunger Games yet! I know, I know. I think it would be interesting to watch the movie before reading the books though. I'll probably watch the game with some of my friends who HAVE read the books so we can compare our thoughts afterwards. :)

I don't like to go to movie theaters so I won't see it until I can see it on my computer or TV. I hate the crowds and noise.

I am soooo excited for the Hunger Games movie! It's my favorite book series, and am ecstatic that its becoming what will hopefully be a fabulous movie! I am hoping to go see it at the midnight release! I am very anxious to see everything with Rue, and consequently may have to bring a box of tissues or 2 with me
ReplyDeleteur.bloody.valentine@hotmail.com
That's really cool you get to hand out some books at the theater!! I am seeing the movie at midnight with my sister and some friends. We're all pretty stoked!

I can't wait to see the nightlock scene just when the Games are ending!
ReplyDeleteurchiken at gmail dot com
I plan on seeing the movie as soon as the crowd dies down.
ReplyDeleteFindjessyhere at gmail dot com
I am going to see the Hunger Games for sure, but I don't have a certain date planned out. I'm thinking of making my mom go with me.
ReplyDeleteI'm really excited to see Katniss's fiery outfit! And all of the delicious food. Oh! And those killer wasps. I wonder what those will look like...!
This isn't so much a reply as it is an edit. I forgot my e-mail address, oops!

I will be going on a cruise when The Hunger Games comes out, so I will miss it the first week of its release! I am almost crazy out of my mind when I realized this! But, then I calmed down and decided, I am going on a cruise and coming home to The Hunger Games, what could be better than that, right??? I will finally be able to see Katniss, Peeta, Gale, the games, the outfits, the figths, the food, the book come to life - I can wait one week, barely!
ReplyDeletedavisjoy[at]gmail[dot[com]
As soon as I can get my hub down to the most comfy movie theatre in town, I'm going! I'd love to be at the midnight showing. I'm going to try to make that one, but during the afternoon is probably the best time to get a primo seat with one of the rocker/recliner chairs. :] I want to see Haymitch. Of course all the characters are on my list, but there it is...I'm such a fan of his. Frankly, I was a bit disappointed when they cast Katniss. I saw her as more beautiful than the girl they've cast. Maybe she'll change my mind as I see the movie. I'm always one to be somewhat disappointed in the movie after the books, though the Harry Potters didn't strike me that way... Are we off the subject here? I really would love to win this book you're offering. May I have it, please??? :]
ReplyDeleteDeborah/TheBookishDame thebookishdame@aol.com
I will be out of town during the release but I will be seeing it as soon as I get back! I am most excited to see the costumes!
ReplyDeletedrinkshrunkentears at gmail dot com
I will be at college during release week, but I plan on seeing it the week after. I'm so excited!
ReplyDeletejaredreadsbooks@gmail.com
I'll be seeing it first thing Friday with my brother and friends. Currently on spring break and looking forward to ending it with a good flick after starting it with a great one (21 Jump Street). Looking forward to final moments with *SPOILER ALERT* Peeta and Katniss and the poison.
ReplyDeletekeviny@clemson.edu
I would say after the crowds aren't so bad.

I am not sure really. I might take my niece but I would sure like to read book first!
